Dr. Laura Blaisdell
Laura Blaisdell, MD/MPH, is a board-certified pediatrician and researcher who works in the Greater Portland Area of Maine. Dr. Blaisdell graduated magna cum laude from Carleton College in Northfield, Minnesota in 1997, earned her medical doctorate and public health degree (MD/MPH) at the University of Minnesota in 2005, and completed a residency in pediatrics at Maine Medical Center in 2008.
Dr. Blaisdell currently practices general pediatrics with Intermedin Yarmouth, Maine, and is a newborn hospitalist at Maine Medical Center. She conducts research and frequently lectures on parental vaccine hesitancy and infectious epidemics in the camp setting.
During the summer months, Dr. Blaisdell is the Camp Health Director for Camp Winnebago in Fayette, Maine, where she lives with her two sons and husband, Andy, the camp’s owner and director. She has served as doctor-in-residence at Africamps in Johannesburg, South Africa, as well as at the Hôpital Albert Schweitzer, in Deschapelles, Haiti. Dr. Blaisdell has served on several local and national boards and currently serves on the Board of Trustees for Mercy Hospital.
